Heads of GCRA’s office and departments of Protestant Affairs, International Relation and Legislation and Inspection attended the reception.
Speaking at the reception, while expressing his honor to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam and meet with the GCRA Chairman, Ambassador Daniel Kritenbrink highlighted that Vietnam is an important partner in Asia as well as in the world for the United States. He also stated to do his utmost for the development of the comprehensive partnership between the two countries.
The U.S. Ambassador highly appreciated the progress of the Law on Belief and Religion of Vietnam and said that he was impressed by vibrant religious activities in Vietnam, including the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng expressed his pleasure to receive the U.S. Ambassador at the GCRA’s head office and took the chance to congratulate the U.S. ambassador on his mission in Vietnam.
The GCRA leader briefed the guests the religious life in Vietnam and informed that the dialogue on religious issues between the GCRA and U.S. Embassy in Vietnam has been regularly held for recent years.
Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng expressed hope that the U.S. Ambassador would make further contributions to the development of the bilateral relation between the two countries as well as the strengthening of understanding and coordination between the GCRA and the U.S. Embassy.
During the reception, the two sides agreed to continue promoting exchanges as well as enhancing mutual understanding in spirits of mutual respect, open and frank dialogue.
