On January 14, 2014, the Princess of Thailand came to Hue Nghiem pagoda (District 2, Ho Chi Minh City) to visit Most Venerable Thích Trí Quảng, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Council, Head of the Executive Board of the Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City, Abbot of Hue Nghiem pagoda.
On November 8-9, 2013, in Ha Long city, the northern province of Quang Ninh, the Institute of Philosophy under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences in collaboration with the Hanoi-based Vietnam Buddhist Institute under the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha held an international conference entitled “Asian and Vietnamese Buddhism in the process of promoting national culture”
On September 25-26, 2013 the Government Committee for Religious Affairs in cooperation with the European Union (EU) delegation to Vietnam held an international seminar entitled “The rich heritage of religious diversity in Vietnam and its contribution to Vietnamese society” at Candeo Hotel in Hanoi.
A seven-member delegation from the Vietnam Government Committee for Religious Affairs led by Mr. Pham Dzung,Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and Chairman of the Committee paid a working visit to the Vatican from September 15 to 20, 2013.
On August 8, 2013, at the headquarter of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Nhường, Chief of the Office of the Committee, had a working session with a delegation from the United States House of Representatives’ Committee on Foreign Affairs led by Mr. Hunter Strupp, an analyst for Asia Policy.
On August 28, 2013, at the headquarter of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, Mr. Bùi Thanh Hà, Vice Chairman of the Committee, received a delegation of pastors from the Republic of Korea’s Seomun Church headed by pastor Han Jin Hwan. Attending the reception were also leaders and officials from the Departments of International Cooperation and Protestant Affairs and the Office of the Committee.
The Constitutionand various laws, decrees, and resolutions of the State have clearly addressed the international relations of religious organizations, followers, and religious leaders as well as regarding the humanitarian activities of foreign religious organizations.
