Hue ancient capital lightened up for Vesak festival

Hue city, known as one of major Buddhism centers in Vietnam, has become more brilliant and attractive during days of the 2562nd Buddha’s Birthday-Vesak festival with streets decorated by Buddhist flag and colorful lanterns.

The decorations for Buddha’s Birthday included seven lotus lanterns placed in Huong River, procession on streets, exhibitions, cultural performances and Buddhist teachings.

Seven huge lotus-shaped lanterns representing the baby Buddha's seven steps made of pink silk fabric with 4 meter high and about 7.5 meter wide.

During the Vesak week, main streets in Hue city are decorated with national flags, Buddhist flags and colorful lanterns.
