Vesak celebrations held to mark birthday of Lord Buddha
Quan Su pagoda, which is the headquarters of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS), plays host to a grand ceremony on May 7 to mark Lord Buddha’s 2564th birthday

Crowds of Buddhists joined in celebrations held at Quan Su pagoda in Hanoi on May 7 to commemorate the birthday of Lord Buddha, also known as Vesak, which falls on the 15th day of the fourth lunar month.

As a result of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the ceremony runs in a simple and safe manner in line with the government’s regulations on epidemic prevention and control

Buddhists are therefore required to limit gatherings while maintaining a safe distance from others in order to curb the potential spread of the virus among the community
