The Hung Kings Temple Festival 2019 commemorates the death anniversary of the Hung Kings which falls on April 14, the tenth day of the third lunar month

A festival to commemorate the death anniversary of the Hung Kings attracted thousands of local people and visitors after taking place in Hung Vuong Square, Viet Tri city, the northern province of Phu Tho on April 12.

Many local delegates were present to witness the festival’s opening ceremony

Alongside events in the temple, a street parade takes place as part of the festival

The festival gathered together an estimated 2,000 artists from art troupes from across the country who came to participate in the

event

The festival gives people the chance to respectfully remember the positive legacy of the country’s ancestors and to show their deep gratitude to the founders of the nation and their cultural heritage

The festival proved popular with thousands of local people and tourists in attendance

The art performances on display during the opening ceremony help to preserve some of the nation’s traditional culture

For young people, the festival is a way of raising awareness about the nation’s history and passing traditions down through different generations
