The pagoda with highest sanctum in Ho Chi Minh city

Van Duc pagoda located in To Ngoc Van street, Thu Duc ward, Ho Chi Minh city was built in 1954. Its sanctum rebuilt in 2004 and completed after two years, was recognized as the highest main worshipping temple in Vietnam by the Vietnam Record Book with the height of 43.5 m.

The pagoda was built on a large area of land donated by a family in the locality

The ancestral house of the pagoda was also restored in 2004

Each corner of the main hall decorated with statues of Buddha, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, sponsoring gods, dragons, etc.

The Bodhi tree and Naranjana river bas-relief painting in the main worshipping temple and recognized as the biggest bas relief painting in Vietnam

Statues of Shakyamuni Buddha and the Buddha of the past, presents and future placed inside the main altar

The structure of the main worshiping temple looks like a great tower with nine stories

There are many windows around the sanctum and each window was hung with a Buddha image

The ceiling of inside the main worshiping temple is decorated with paintings of blue sky, white clouds

A new Buddha statute with the height of 15m made from white monolithic stone  was placed in front of the main worshiping temple in late of 2017.

The lobby and stairs are erected with white steel, cement and granite stone
